I failed a major subject. T_T I had a feeling i would but i was still hoping that i passed. I could go on and on about how hard the subject was, that half the class flunked, etc. But still. The bottomline is: i failed. I'm so bummed out. I need a gallon of ice cream. And a big serving of blueberry cheesecake. Better yet, give me the whole thing.

Today we went out to celebrate my brother's 18th birthday which really fell on the 14th but heck, my dad couldn't make it, he was out of town for work. So we went and ate at Italianni's Glorietta.  We had their  Sicilian Chicken Salad for starters plus the free bread basket. Then my brother ordered their Classic Carbonara, my mom their Seafood Cloppino, my dad had the Seafood Risotto, and i ordered the Chicken Masala Risotto. YUUUUUUUUUM! Suffice it to say we stayed there some some time and were full by the time we left. Good eats!

I got to buy 2 shoes i've been wanting to get for a week now. One of them was on sale, yey!

BUT when i got home, i learned from my friends Dyosa and Glenn that grades for the 2nd sem were already out. Shiiiiiiit man! I'm fervently hoping i passed all my subjects! *nail bites* What a way to end my day!

Today...

...i woke up to my favorite kind of weather: cool, overcast, drizzling.

...Juris asked me to go wall-climbing with her and 2 of our friends. I couldn't because i had to meet Pam. Plus i had a class later in the afternoon. Plus i can't climb walls, so to speak, to save my life.

...i met with my good friend Pam. We've known each since our sophomore year in high school. She was, in fact, our class President lol. We got to know each other better because we took the same bus service going home. Anyway, we lost contact for a couple of years (which is redonkulous because we live near each other) and it's only lately that we've been in contact again. So we went to this sushi resto at Mall of Asia. She went for the sushi buffet but i didn't - not a big fan of sushi actually. Although i DID manage to sneak a few pieces from her plate to mine :p I had okonomiyaki (yum!), chicken teriyaki, and yakimeshi. Tabemashou!

...the sone 1000 Miles by Vanessa Carlton was playing on the sushi place we ate at, and later on G and i sang it at the bridge. It made me happy for some reason. Probably cause of the movie. :)

...my classmates asked me to buy them 5 orders of siomai. Which the two of them ate by themselves. We were late for class. Heehee,

...i wasn't called for recitation! Haha K got called - yan ang napapala ng mga nag-aaral! Weeee!

...before dismissing the class, Atty E told us he wouldn't be meeting us tomorrow. He has to go out of town, again. Probably has a hearing somewhere. And he dismissed the class 30 mins before the time. Happiness!

...G, Ia, and i went to K's condo and raided her pantry. We had sisig, corned beef, tuna, and sausages. They had several bottles of Red Horse. Again heehee.

Speed Racer

Nothing new actually, so three stars out of five. The colors used were vibrantly SCREAMING. If it weren't for the fact my brother and i grew up watching the cartoons (and to support Rain too hehe), i would have waited for it on cable. Predictable storyline, good sfx (though nothing new there) with highly improbable that's bordering on impossible moves -- hey, it's the Wachowski brothers directing, what can you expect? It's like watching the Matrix, this time using racing cars. Oh and the villain reminded me of Tim Curry. Haha!

If you grew up watching the series you'll probably appreciate them using bits and pieces of the cartoons, such as some of the sound fx. And also the ending song of the movie, it incorporated the Japanese version of the song and some of the English i think.

Iron Man

I didn't grow up reading the comics but i know a thing or two about this comic character. So i went in to see the film without really expecting to see any of my favorites (unlike X-Men or LotR). I just expected to see a cool summer flick. I even had reservations with Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark. But i was really surprised with how the translated the character into the big screen so kudos to Jon Favreau.

It was a pretty good origin film. They followed most of the comicverse so the guys who grew up watching/reading it will be satisfied. I wonder why they didn't mention his nemesis as Iron Monger though, or did i miss it? And War Machine, oh man, i can't wait for the sequels. I greatly liked that the movie happens in modern day earth, giving it a bit of realism. Although as of now, the chances of that happening is highly improbable but certainly not impossible. I'm still clamoring for a GUNDAM movie though hehehe. Hey, they did Transformers. And yeah, i'm dying to see G.I. Joe. And X-Men Origins: Wolverine. =)

Btw, wait for the credits to end. Can you say Nick Fury? Good. Now say Avengers Initiative. Good. LOL. And watch out for Stan Lee, nice bit of cameo there.

Okay, i gotta admit, this isn't my only blog journal in cyberspace. I have 2 3 more lying around. So i think what i'm doing is trying out several "spaces" and i will eventually pick 1 (or 2) which i like best. Or maybe i'm just going through a phase. Or maybe i'm just greedy LOL.
